Job Description
The Youth Development Assistant supports the implementation of daily activities and ensures the safety and engagement of students in the “Brownsville Seeds of Literacy OST Initiative.” This role works closely with the Youth Development Specialist to provide a nurturing environment that fosters learning, creativity, and personal growth for program participants.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Assist in preparing and facilitating structured activities, including literacy, STEM, arts, and character development sessions.
● Supervise students during activities, transitions, and snack/meal times to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
● Provide individual support to students needing additional attention to fully engage in program activities.
● Assist with setting up and cleaning activity spaces to maintain an organized and welcoming environment.
● Communicate student progress, behavior, and concerns to the Youth Development Specialist.
● Support program events and family engagement activities as needed.
